Add an image to your signature (iRV2 Supporting Members)

As noted here iRV2 supporting members can now add images to their signatures. Here are some step by step directions about how to do this.

First prepare an image on your computer. Images are wide but not tall and here are the maximum allowable sizes: 468 by 60 pixels or 20.0 KB (whichever is smaller). Acceptable file formats are jpgs and gifs (no animations). Here is a sample image as an example and if you need some help with these you can ask a site team member:

Name:	sig pic.jpg
Views:	467
Size:	10.1 KB
ID:	17299

To load the image:

Go to your userCP and find 'Edit Signature" (left side menu)

1. Add text to your signature

2. under Option 2 - Upload Image From Your Computer. Locate the image on your hard drive by selecting 'browse' that you want to use in your signature. Note the size restrictions as no image will load if this is not met.

3. Click upload. Once you have uploaded the image you shoudl see it display below the signature editor.

4. Place your cursor in the location where you want your image to display in your signature (in the editor box). Click on the link to 'insert signature picture' to add it to your signature. You will see the image code appear in the editor at that location. it looks like this: [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

You can click the preview signature button to check that you have your set up just right and then edit again if needed. The preview will appear above the editor.

Some tips:
  • Sig images are wide and not tall - if you need help making an image like this we can help. but will need you to post the base images.
  • Your signature will not display in posts unless you have selected that option when you make the post. There is also a setting in your user CP (options) to display your signature on posts.

Look on the upper teal colored nav bar for a link to "user CP" (below forum logo). Then look in the menu options on the left side of the page until you find signature options

Sorry for adding to such an old thread. Is there a post limit to allow adding a picture to my signature? I do not even see the Option 2 mentioned above.

It's my understanding that you need to be a supporter of iRV2 to be able to enhance your signature with a picture. Supporting iRV2 costs $15.03 a year. Supporter status gives you other benefits.

I have tried following the steps here but my picture still does not show. I upgraded to supporter level and then went in to my user CP and added a signature no problem. I then selected an image which is 55 X 41 and 19.5kb. I clicked on upload and the image shows up in the edit window. I then selected the spot where I want the image to appear and when I click on the insert link it still does not appear.

To clear this up for folks....YOU need to be an IRV2 "Supporting member" ($$) to have access to "Option 2".
Otherwise do not even bother trying to do this.

Here is a screenshot of what my signature picture editor looks like. At this point I selected a spot above (or below) my signature test and then clicked the "insert signature picture" link and then save but nothing happens.
