Folks, discussing features of the forum is OK, but discussing other members is NOT OK.

Don't know. You'll just have to try it. Temporarily put me on ignore and see if our post show up.

You still show up but no message just "This message is hidden because Dunner is on your ignore list"

Under "thread tools" at the top of the page there is an "ignore this thread" that may be helpful. I checked it out with a thread at the top of the "recent discussions" element and it disappeared completely. Guess I found my new tool.

Route 66, sorry.

Under user cp ignore settings there is a check box that says:
"Ignore threads from users on your ignore list:"

I think this mis-worded and actually to ignore post fro people on your ignore list, not the whole thread. I may be wrong, and would need to check it. Be back later, I'm on another project.

Under Thread Tools, you can ignore an entire thread.

Dunner,
Just putzing around on the user CP and found the "ignore manager" and clicked on "settings" there is a check box that says "Ignore threads from users on your ignore list:" Is this the one you're talking about? I did that and all threads started by the user I'm ignoring disappeared from the forums.

When someone is ignored, it shows a yellow bar that a person has been ignored. I thought the Ignore Manager would let you hide the yellow ignored notification. I can't find it now, but I do think I did it once. Maybe that option it's worded wrong and should say posts, instead of threads. Gonna go play with it.

Nope, that ain't it. I checked ignore threads and forums and it still show who is ignored. I can almost swear I did something and it hid the ignored persons ignored notification.

I found myself checking to see if the ignored person still needed to be ignored, and I thought I found an option that hid the notification. If it was there, it's gone now.

With a brief search, I found this on the vBullitin forum:

Quote:
"I'm looking for a mod that will completely hide threads started by and posts by a user on someone's ignore list completely (as if the user never existed, until they are removed from the ignore list) -- I know it exists for 3.x as I've used it before, but can't find anything for 4.x"

"Any leads on where or what I could search for to find one that does this? I found one that will hide an ignored users' quoted posts, but nothing that does that for threads/posts."
So, it does, did or can exist. I'm not loosing my mind. There was one reply, but it was totally off-base and didn't answer the OP's original question.

Pretty much all my interaction with irv2 is thru the app on my phone. Granted there are a number if things you can't due using the phone app including ignoring a user. So I followed the ignorance instructions on the web browser instance and can confirm the ignored users posts show up in yellow listed as ignored. The good news is when viewing posts from the phone app nothing to do with the ignored user appears in any way, shape or form!
