Add {user} to ignore list

If I click a users name a little menu pops up. In that menu, the last option is 'Add {user} to your ignore list', or something to that effect.

What does this do?

I believe you will not see any posts by that user. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Yep, it blocks the post from a selected poster. But why not stick around and watch the side show.

I agree with Ken [moderator edit]. I think all you guys posted in that thread. I didn't, but I was sure tempted to. It ain't snake oil, but it's the next best thing.

If you feel that [moderator edit] posts will elicit an uncontrolled response from you that the Mods won't appreciate, then by all means, add [moderator edit] to your "Ignore List". Other than that, as Ken said, "stick around and watch the side show." [moderator edit]

How about a hint. I'd love to see the side show.

If you put [moderator edit] on your ignore list, it still shows he posted but is ignored and [moderator edit] posts does not show. There is another option that you can select so even that won't show up.

One thing I truly cannot stand is deceptive marketing. Car dealers who say "We'll beat anybody's price or we'll pay you $5000!" is a perfect example. Do they think we're idiots? Maybe there ARE some idiots that fall for that. It just makes me put them on my 'never do business with' list.

I'm pretty good about controlling myself in here. I try to keep a level head and approach everyone with respect, regardless if I think they deserve it or not. [moderator edit}

[moderator edit]

You guys are right, though... I'll just dummy up and watch the show.

I never looked [moderator edit] until this thread was posted, then I was just curious.

I read a few entries and now I have gone back to just skipping over those threads.

Works for me.

It matters not, I understand my little place in the big machine. I'll just keep my ignore list populated, and harmony will return to my world.
