Adding Photo's to Threads

Whenever I add a photo to a thread the pics show up in the thread rotated 90 degrees ie on their side.
Can someone tell me how to prevent this?

After downloading the photo from your phone or camera, try opening it in a photo handling program. See if it's rotated. If it is, turn it and save it with a new name. I've found this to happen with many iPhone photos.
