Administrator's help required??

I hope I'm asking for this in the right place. In the "Owners Forums", in the "Monaco" section, in the first Sticky thread, titled, "Calling all new-to-forum Monaco owners", the poster has offerred to help you become a member of the "Monaco Owners Group". Unfortunatly, the info has become outdated, but people are coming along on a regular basis and asking to be "signed up". Myself and another member have been trying to explain to them, how they can do it themselves, but to no avail. If an administrator would go into the original first post and explain the new procedure there, it could save our members a lot of disappointment.

The 1st post was edited back in 2011 to provide the appropriate steps for members to add the group name in their user name block. Just direct new requests to that 1st post & they'll find what they need.

How is it one careless match can start a forest fire but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?

Hi Lori; I don't think people are seeing the steps in the first post. This is all they see I guess...

[I'd like to welcome you to irv2.com, and especially to the Monaco Forum. I'm sure you'll enjoy it and hopefully come away with some useful information (or at least a chuckle or two).

If you haven't already signed-up up as a 'official' Monaco-member of the Forum, please drop me a PM or simply respond here. I'll be happy to get you fixed-up. And while you're at it, how about going into your Personal Zone and filling in some information in your Profile. That way, we can recognize each other on the road.]

I have been directing people back to this...

Reading back through the thread I found billr1's post on pg 103 where he explains the correct procedure to sign yourself in. See below.

"As far as I know, there's nothing anyone can sign you up for and the original poster hasn't posted anything since 2008. What you want to do is sign yourself up (from the very first post in this thread):"

"Select the "User CP" link
then the iRV2 Groups
and View all groups
then Monaco Owners Club

and finally click on Join Group"

"You are now a member of the group. After doing that, there will be a "Monaco Owners Club" tag line under your name. " Quoted from billr1

You may find it a little difficult to follow the links but persevere, it works. fixercqi

The problem is people are not reading the other posts and don't see the new instructions. I think we would have to eliminate everything from the post except the steps. Bob

It's kind of hard to miss the instructions. They're even in bold print. Below is a screenshot of the 1st post in that thread:

Here is a link to the thread with the instructions in the first post as Lori mentions.

I'm not saying that the info isn't there in plain site, I'm saying that many people are not seeing it. 33 people have not seen it in the last 5 pages of the thread. In all fairness, most of these people are new to the site. I guess I was just hoping to make the instruction clearer and less ambiguous. Only one choice so to speak. I think some of them may have trouble navigating the site even if they saw the links because of their unfamiliarity.

I clarified the links a little in one post but of course no one sees that page.
If it were the only instruction on that first post I think most people could find their way. As below...

If you want to join any owner's group follow this procedure (this one is for Monaco but it can work for any group if you read between the lines)

"Select the "User CP" link (if your logged in you will find the "User CP" link in the menu in the upper left corner of this page just under the "powered by google" box.)

then click "iRV2 Groups" (from the menu on the left under "networking")
and then click "View all groups" (in the "Random Groups" box)
then "Monaco Owners Club" (in the 'Monaco Owners" box)
and finally click on "Join Group" (in the "Monaco Owners Group" box)

You are now a member of the group. After doing that, there will be a "Monaco Owners Club" tag line under your name.

I'm having a similar problem. I unsubscribed from the Thor group and joined the Winnebago group, but the Thor group still shows under my name. How do I remove it and add the Winnebago group?

You need to edit your iRV2 Group from your User CP. Click on the group & then click on Leave Group. It'll ask you if you really want to want to leave....click Yes.

Take the BOLD steps in post #1 in the Winnebago Coach Forum ID to get Winnebago listed. OR you can just post in that thread & Petro will get the designation added for you.

Well that added the Winnebago Users Group name. I "removed" myself from the Thor Users Group, but it still appears as well. Is there something special I have to do to remove it?

Thanks!

It's not there. I see only Winnebago & Freightliner listed in your user name box.
