Wow, haven't been on the site for about a week.
Previously I was not seeing any ads at all , but now they are all around the site, flashing and changing . Personally I don't like it and if it keeps up I guess I will go elsewhere!
And I thought this site was better than that!

Add blockers take care of most of them. The problem for me is that the ones that do not move/flash/blink are not a huge problem the ones that do are painful (mental health issue).

The ads are what make this site free for members to use. Otherwise, we would have to charge you. There are ways to reduce the ad seen though:

First, you must be logged in. This will eliminate a majority of the ads.
Second, turn off the right column via your User CP. That will eliminate more.
Last, download an ad-blocker for your browser (prior discussion linked in above post - you can also do a search to find lots more discussions about removing ads).

How is it one careless match can start a forest fire but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?

What changed

Yesterday no adds, today adds everywhere. I have have Addblock plus enabled. I am an Irv2 supporter and I am logged in. The same as I was yesterday. So what changed overnight?

The same thing is happening on the Air forums site.

Nothing's changed on our end that I know of. I'm logged in today the same as yesterday & not seeing any ads - but then I've done all 3 steps I listed in my prior post.

I have tried everything. I have the current version of Firefox 27.0.1 and I have deleted Add Bloc Plus, reinstalled it , same thing happens. The exact same thing happens on Air Forums, another site hosted by Social Knowledge. Not other web site that I have found is effected. It all started this morning. Prior to this no adds on either forum, It looks like the OP, OSP1268 is also having this issue. Is something corrupt in my profile that could cause this. All of my virus protection is up to date and I have completed a full scan of my system. I have also reported this to Add Block but have not receiced a reply.

thanks

I am now on a different computer logged on the iRv2 with Firefox Add Block Plus that have been installed on this computer for some time. After logging in, the same adds all over. How could that be. It would seem to be related to iRv2 and Air Forums since I get the same iisue to 2 different computers.

Any Thoughts from tech?

Don, I've turned off your right side column/ads.

Does that make a difference?

Lori-
That is all well and good, but it also gets rid of the "Recent Discussions" , and I like to check that when I check back into the site once or twice a day.
I have all the ad blockers that Firefox has and I am still getting all the ads that are constantly flashing, changing and very distracting . I will not be on this site much longer if it continues!

Yes but at the expense of eliminating the recent discussions which I follow. It does not fix the problem.
