Advertising Videos

Understanding that paid advertising is going to help cut the costs of running the site, which I love by the way, is there anyway that we can turn off at least one of the three videos that all want to run simultaneously and talk over each other and turn me into a screaming meemee?! It is very close to being the most annoying thing that I have seen on any website and IRV2 has lots of company!

Thanks!
Laura

Sorry for the problem.

Our programmers are looking into it.

Verizon audio only ad

It runs over and over - how do I get rid of it?

I've found that most of those ads use Flash. If you use the Firefox browser like I do, there is an add-on called Flashblock by Philip Chee. The version I am using is 1.5.18.1. It replaces the Flash objects with a placeholder that you can click to load and run the content. You can also add a site to a 'whitelist' under preferences to allow Flash to play automatically on those sites (e.g. www.youtube.com).

The video ads should now be gone.

Well the video adds are not gone. I'm on every day at various times and starting late yesterday they started. Today around 4-PM they began playing two and three at a time and on top of each other. I was not sure what was happening. It made staying on the forums impossible. You couldn't type. Everything was hit and miss. You would hit a letter and nothing would happen. Eventually it put the letter on the screen then jumped all around from top to bottom of the page.

So as of 9-PM it was still off and on with the video's.

Highly recommend this app. It will eliminate this and other annoyances. https://adblockplus.org/

Can you tell us who or what the ad was for?

Can you provide a screenshot?

We had blocked the one ad that we thought was the only problem.

Thanks.

The actual picture or video did not come through clearly. The audio did. It was the video (audio only) about a guy telling you if you smoked you needed to make a list of important things to you because if you continued smoking your were going to loose your, legs, eyes, heart, etc, etc and eventually your life. I heard it over and over. That was the only audio add that came through clearly. The other audios were garbled or over shadowed by by that add.

The video that came through was something but really nothing. At no time could I actually say that I saw something that I could identify. It was very strange.

Since your first responded to me I have not had it happen again.

Thanks for your help and diligence with this.

Thanks for the update. Hopefully that'll be the end of this issue.
