Bad link from email announcements

Just curious, I seem to almost daily receive links to forum posts I am subscribed to and more than half are dead links that state "Invalid Thread specified...." I've tested these links from other websites that test browser views, and from other servers in other locations, same thing. I'm tested from different ISP's as I move around, different computers and even phone. I get the email, I'm curious (that's why I subscribed) but I can't get to the link.

I contacted the admin who said the link is good, but I'm assuming the admin is testing from inside or with a computer that has the correct privileges or something. Just curious what others see out there to links they receive?

Since you've tried from multiple devices and all the other scenarios you described—that to me—points to look for a common denominator on your end. Like your overall internet security settings, maybe a firewall, or a security setting on your hot spot, or your internet hub, or your main provider settings. Somewhere in the way you connect to the internet, there has to be some settings that are preventing the complete link to arrive intact.

OR....something in your email program or email settings.

Now, I did contact admin a few weeks ago about another matter and they told me they do implement everything on their website using https protocols, so MAYBE this is something else you can look at in the way your internet content is being delivered to you.

I use Gmail and I don't have any problems with links on my end.

Personally I hate getting email alerts. I get to many emails everyday as it is. I just come here to the forum and check the threads I've subscribed to...which are few BTW.

Good luck.

Registry entries and some hyperlinks are view-able by logged-in members only (not to guests).

If anyone gets an "Invalid Link" warning, they have possibly been kicked off their log-in by something (virus check or pop-up blocker, maybe).

Please, always remember to select "Remember Me" when logging-in to avoid lost Logging while you browse iRV2.

And, it is always a good idea to clear your iRV2 History and Cookies and Cache if you are having any issues browsing.

Best luck
