I think wee all need a spelling lesson in are postings. Some our hard to understnd because of a lake of proof reading before submitting. It wood help to have a spell chek so wee can make the coirections befor they are posted. I think the red under lining might be a clu?
I now I am going to take a little heat for this.

While there are certainly several alternatives to check spelling before posting, it's been the "nature of the beast" for spelling and grammar to be one of those things that falls by the wayside when dealing with posts of any kind on the internet...

And yes....I can see the sea from here!!

You can post your reply in a Word Doc., spell check it, copy then paste in the forum.

Yea, you are correct Richard in going that route, but I was hoping for a quicker solution - like a spell check in the tool bar. I just read a post the other day and the store (sic) that he was referring to was a story. I had to read it twice to understand what he was referring to. Anyway thanks for the ear and hope to see a spell check to help us "all" out in the future.

If our forum provider ever was to offer spell check, you can bet it'd be something we'd be interested in.

Thank you for your continued support.

A lot of us use IESPELL, a free download that works great.

I just type my stuff usually in MS Word, then paste into the message window. That way, I can check URLs and spelling prior to posting.

If you are using the Microsoft operating system, then you should consider Firefox which is a replacement for the Internet Explorer that is shipped with the OS. Firefox is free, looks and feels a lot like Explorer and has an included automatic spell checker. As you type your messages, you will see a small red underline when it sees something that it doesn't understand. That gives you a visual to go and correct. It works really well and is free. If you are interested try here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/

JWatkins,I have Firefox. It is a great OS. We have been talking about spelling and trying to post items that are less confusing to the reader.
OpenOffice is a great free program that also has a very good spell check program attached.I guess I am too lazy to transfer back and forth between word processing programs just to check spelling and would like to have a spell check up in the tool bar of our "reply" pop up. I know nothing about computer science, but if you can have "Bold, Italic, Cross out, Quotes, etc;" why not Spell Check? It would make life a little easier

no18yes, I agree that a spell checker is nice, but I have also found that those that live by the spell checker, die by the spell checker! It is a great crutch, but a earnest re-read is the best. Firefox helps by underlining all that it doesn't understand, but that too is only a bandaid since a misspelled ewe (you) will get past all checkers. All of my friends think I am Italian because I regularly leave the r off of your. So, bring you wife and come over is what they see. Gets past the checker just fine.

If you are using Microsoft windows you can download iespell from windows this will take you to the program to download.

http://www.iespell.com/

From this program on your menu bar you can spell check any post for any of your online clubs.

Best of Luck

Heres another log for your fire.
Are you in LA like Don (y5it)

I tried putting it on my computer, but it wont work. I have deleted it and reinstall it. It works for a day and then the same thing happens again. So I just use MS Word and paste it if its long.

To answer your question there is no spell checker on the server.Several folks us a IE spell checker.
