Chat Room Issue?

Hi gang-

I (and others) have been having an issue trying to access the chat rooms. It's asking for me to install Java (it's already installed and at the latest level on my computer) and also AddonChat seems to want to install ActiveX (which I also have installed) but Microsoft is blocking this installation.

Any help/advise would be most appreciated!

Additional Information

Ok, this problem sees to be related to Internet Explorer- I tried logging in using Google Chrome without a problem.

I had a similar problem last Wednesday night when I wanted to enter the chat rooms. I am using IE10. Java wanted to do an upgrade and when I tried it would not let me do it saying it was already installed. After that I could no longer get on the chat rooms. In order to solve the problem I turned off my Firewall and tried again. It said Java was already installed and it gave me an option to install it over the existing file which I did. It uninstalled the old program and reinstalled the new one. I turned my firewall back on and restarted my computer and all is working good now.

I fired up my laptop and it wanted to do the same identical thing. So I went through the same process with that and it also is working OK now. In thinking back I wonder if I would have uninstalled Java first and than turned off my firewall, installed Java, and restarted Windows after turning the firewall back on if I would have achieved the same results.

I hope I have helped you.

Don

Thanks, Dan. I reloaded Java and everything is fine. Don't know what the issue is but I do know a lot of folks have been struggling with it.

Chat room issue

Hi Skip,
I think I was the first one to mention this problem, several months ago. I tried a lot of different things, uninstalled Java, reinstalled it, turned off firewall, enabled all add-ons, changed security settings etc. etc. I also googled the problem to no end looking for an answer without success.
Internet Explorer will not install the unsigned Add-0n.
Untill someone finds the fix, the only way to get into the chatroom is installing either Chrome or Firefox.
Firefox brings up a popup message about the issue, click on that and all is well.
Isn't there anyone in IRV2 Admin who deals with the AddOnChat company
that might be able to help us?

Hey Dutchie, and Hi to Nate!

Hopefully the iRV2 folks spot this posting. I think they've been busy with other things.

Reno was having the same problem and he emailed me last week. I gave him instructions on how to fix the problem and hopefully he's able to get back into the room.
