Didn't there used to be a "suggestion" section? Maybe not.

Anyway, here's a suggestion regarding the overall interface and allowing more individual control-

I know an individual user can collapse or hide entire sections or categories, but it would be helpful (to me, anyway) if I could do so with individual pieces within those larger categories (just as a user can in the "What's Going On" section - I can choose to hide either or both of the two pieces within that section).

To further explain some of what I'd like to do, consider this . . . I do not own a TT, 5er, Truck Conversion, Pop-Up, and none of the Engine or Chassis configurations featured on iRV2, so I can collapse those entire sections. I do, however, own one of the featured Manufacturer models, in my case Winnebago, but must have all of the other dozen or so sections showing. I'd like to hide all of those others (no disrespect to all of those "others") . . . make sense?

Such control for each piece would allow me to considerably shrink to overall size of my iRV2 page, yet increase its functionality and applicability --- for me. Can the level of user control provided in the "What's Going On" section be provided in every other section?

Thanks for your consideration.

Warren,

We have developed something that I think will work for this for another Social Knowledge community. Basically it allows you to ignore things like forums, threads, members and they will not show up anywhere on the site for you. I will see if we can install it this week and post back here when it's done.

Andy

Another, more javascript based approach would be to add a hide/show option to the headings and have it set a cookie for each on the end-user's machine. While it wouldn't reduce the amount of data sent, the cookie would allow it to change the visible/non-visible element to the area below the primary heading. Thus making the page shorter and easier to view.

Sorry, I have been very busy in the last couple of weeks. Tech Admin (programmer) is on vacation this next week and when he returns I'll have him upgrade the Add-On Product to version 3.8.x of the forum software so we can move forward with this.

Once again, my apologies for the slow response.

Andy - is it your intent to follow up on this or should I just give up on it? It's not a sword I want to fall on, but would appreciate knowing if the whole thing is just simply not any concern for a change. Thanks. Tell me to leave it alone and I'll get on with life.

Yes, we are going to get to this. We have some fires to put out on some other pressing issues. The hold up is that the add-on needs to be upgraded and that's going to take some programming time. Jeff is a part-time programmer and is busy on another project at this time.

I can collapse a group but it doesn't stay that way. Every time I go back it has expanded again (this is without leaving the forum section). How is it supposed to work? Thanks!

I find so much that is written about any RV is usually applicable to all RV's, whether it about your fridge, air conditioner, furnace, batteries or whatever. Yes, sometimes things are just Manufacturer type, but to post a generic article and to think that just one type might be interested, or to think that is all you would be interested in is pretty naive.

I wish you luck with your quest. If it suits you, go for it.

To whom is your message addressed? Just wondering who you think needs the luck you are wishing.
