Starting with last night's forum update summary via e-mail, the messages are compressed as though all carriage returns have been deleted. Makes it hard to read.

I checked my e-mail preferences and tried it with and without "word wrap" since the messages are sent in plain text format. No change.

Any suggestions? Anyone else having the problem?

Thanks,

Daily e-mail summaries format change?

The format of the daily e-mail summaries has been different for the last three days. The summaries are now double spaced and the hyperlinks are no longer there. The http://..etc. are still there, but no longer are hyperlinks. The only hyperlinks are at the bottom of the e-mail for the unsubscribe option. I now have to copy and paste the addresses to view the forum content.

Is there some e-mail option setting I changed by mistake? I looked for a plain text vs html setting, but couldn't find one.

I don't know of any changes I've made to cause this. I am set to receive html e-mail with Outlook 2007.

Thanks

2 days ago we changed to a new e-mail service for our subscription updates and several folks have reported similar issues. As we discover them we are reporting them to our provider and hopefully they can be ironed out.

Please be patient as we work through this and know that it it's not a problem at your end but rather, how various mail clients interpret with the format in these notices.

We are working to find a solution that works for everyone but it takes a little time.

If you are having trouble with message compression (carriage returns removed) or links not being active please let us know what your e-mail client is and what version if possible (outlook, hotmail, thunderbird, etc)

Okay, again my problem is no active links except for the unsubscribe link, and the messages contain extra linefeeds between paragraphs.

I'm using Outlook 2007 on Win7-64. Thanks.

Same problems here with the hyperlinks. Started several days ago as stated in previous post.

I also run Win7/64 but use Outlook 2010

I noticed that the sender of the messages is different now. It is <support=irv2.com@socialknowledge.com>

One more with a problem - I have stopped receiving e-mail notifications - am using the latest version of Firefox as well as Earthlink Total Access for my notifications. I just checked and read the 5 subscribed threads from the past couple of days.

I'll be looking forward to the repairs

I Finally figured out what is causing the problem. It is caused in my case by Norton Internet Security, which includes Anti-Virus and Anti-Spam protection. The Anti-Spam setting being turned also covers Outlook. This allows hyperlinks to only be active with email addresses contained in the address book. If I turn Anti-Spam off or add the new email sending service's email address, the problem goes away. This may not be just be related to Norton Anti-Spam software. The same problem could be caused by other Anti-Spam programs.

So it seems that the software is doing its work as designed and the problem is not related to the type of hardware architecture we consider superior.

It would have been nice if some type of notification was send to the users that a change was coming up. I also auto save my inbox messages to various folders based on sender address which also failed to work of course. These problems could have been avoided by keeping us users informed.

That may be the fix for your problem but it's not the fix for mine. The hyperlinks in the e-mailed updates have always come through intact on my system. They function just as they've always have.

The problem of stripped out carriage returns or line breaks, if you like, remains on my system. I don't have Norton, or any other Symantec products that I know of, installed on my system.

FWIW

Ditto

What I have for my internet security is the same as it has been for approximately one year. I don't (wont!!) have Norton/Symantec, dislike McAfee and most of the others that cost large amounts of $$$ and interfere with my PC's function.

This IS NOT my problem, but the server owners and iRV2 - and I do hope that it is soon fixed

The problem persists here as well. Just to be safe I added the e-mailer and IRV2 support to my contacts. I use AVG and have never had a problem.

I think Janet H is aware of our problems, and is probably weary of hearing us complain.

I'm going to do as she asked and give them a little time. The only reason for this posting is to encourage those who have the problem to leave their computer alone and wait for a solution to a known problem.
