I'm not sure if the title accurately describes the problem I am having, primarily (only) on the office computer where I volunteer. Sometimes the layout shows the boxes, icons etc as I see them at home, but sometimes all I get are the posts without any seperators, icons etc and it makes reading the posts difficult. Do I need to make some adjustments on the work box?

It sounds like the configuration is different on your office computer. Are you using the same browser? I can only vouch for IE and Netscape, but you can turn off the graphics and other things on these. Oh, and the version can make a difference also.

I'm pretty sure that the reason you get them sometimes is because someone keeps changing the configuration (set-up).

Mark, it is quite possible that you need to update the browser on that PC.
I wonder if you try and hit "refresh" if that will bring them back?
Sometimes that works as a temporary fix...

Thanks for the responses guys - it is a military computer so I can not update anything - it is locked down for any user installs. My guess is that it is the latest version of IE, since the IT guys are rabid about security updates.

The bizarre thing is that it doesn't do it all the time. On one page all will be fine, then I open a forum and there go the graphics.

Ah well, I only volunteer there 3 hours a week so I think I can stand the hassle. At least I am no longer there 40 + hours a week!

Ain't retirement great ! ! ! ! !

Okay...knowing that info, then it is the computer's problem. It is used so much that there is a lot of stuff on there. If they don't have SpyWare or SPAM protection, then it is probably doing stuff in the background that you don't see and it just doesn't load quickly. You can usually tell when this is the case as the mouse will move slower than usual. It would also depend on how much memory it has. There isn't anything much you can do about it except complain to the IT guys.
