Question Groups no longer extensions of their respective Regions?

I just noticed (not too observant, am i?), the Cooters, Boomers & Piggies are no longer extensions of the Regions they grew out of. Just curious as to the reasoning? I thought the reason they were created as extensions was so folks would know what Region a group belonged to.

It's not the linking I'm referring to.

Under the Regional Chapters, each of those groups used to be placed under & within their Region's Forum as a subforum (Pond Piggies were under the North Central Region Forum). For example, look at Thor: it's got Damon as a subforum (used to have Hurricane, Keystone & Aerolite...etc, but those are gone too - looks like they were re-absorbed into the main Thor Forum) or Newmar: it's got NKK as a subforum. That's the way it used to be for the groups within a Region. Now the groups are out, on the same level if you will, as the Region Forums. I was just wondering what was behind the move (or the move back in respect to the other mfr's under Thor).

I'm not sure I entirely understand your question but...

Several tiny subforums in the Thor forum were removed and the threads in those subforums were moved back into the parent forum. This was done because they were not being used and had very few threads. The Damon subforum remains because it is active and there are enough threads there to warrant a seperate subforum.

The intent of a subforum is to group up threads on a specialised topic when there are a bunch of them and enough regular traffic to support a subforum. Having empty or unused subforums clutters up the page. It's always possible to add a subforum when there is a true need and enough posts to support it.

Maybe my fingers aren't conveying what my brain is trying to tell them to type. I think I get it, though, Janet. Looking at the Regional Chapters Forums, the Cooters, Boomers & Piggies had way more traffic to no longer be considered sub-forums underneath their respective "parent" Regions. They got moved to full-fledged/full-sized Forums. Oooooh, I feel so grown up now.

No..... not quite - they are still subforums. Take a look at this page and scroll down to see the sub forum configuration. Here are some shots of both the Thor forum and the regional forums.

Ok, I just NOW figured it out. HA! I knew I wasn't crazy or seeing things.

If you hover over the Forums tab at the top of the webpage, you get a drop down menu. At the bottom of that drop down, Regional Chapters is listed. If you click on it, it brings up a webpage labelled "REGIONAL CHAPTERS, CAMPOUTS & RALLIES". If you look at that page, the Cooters, Boomers & Piggies are not indented as sub-forums under their Regions, but they are left justified in line like all the other Region forums.

I can't figure out how to insert a screen print (like you did, Janet) or I'd be able to show you what I'm looking at. But if you follow the steps I stated in the previous paragraph, you'll see it.
