I use Google chrome on my android tablet and Ubuntu Linux on my desktop with chrome and do not have this problem or the other problems I see some people having. Maybe time to consider a change.

In your user control panel " Edit Options " section you can choose to; stop pop ups . Info from a moderator in other posts about slow site response says that's a fix too.
I installed the ad blocker before I found that possible fix.

Having the same problem here at times. I have the pop up blocker enabled, cleaned temp files and cache. I am using a good malware blocker.
Often, when I click on the IRV2 bookmark (or url), the page comes up, stays for a second, and then reloads. It is like it is stuck in a loop trying to reload every second. I assume that the pop up blocker is trying to do its job, but the ad server keeps hammering the same pop up ad over and over, to the point where the user computer uses up all its resources trying to block out the ads (theory only).
Sometimes, closing the browser and re-trying helps get me in.
I have no other problems on any other forums or other links with this same computer.

Point of clarification: That's a toggle for a pop-up for an iRV2 daily newsletter. iRV2 doesn't have a daily newsletter (we have a quarterly one that's sent to all members), so there is no pop-up notification that appears for one here. That option does not apply to any other pop up.
Some Social Knowledge Forums have a daily newsletter to which people can subscribe. A pop-up appears on those sites with a click link to subscribe, which can be annoying unless the registered member selects the option to stop the newsletter pop up notification.
Ok, now back on topic...

Having issues as well. Posting and then not showing until refresh the screen.
Slow typing, really slow and will miss characters, seems to pause.
Generally double space between paragraphs, shows up as triple spacing (I will leave this post as is).
This occurred before and seemed to show up this time when they say they updated the site.

Out of all the sites I surf regularly, IRV2 by far clogs up my computes power / internet connection the most.

My IPad Pro must be some sort of supercomputer. I read and post to this site on standard IOS safari without ad blockers enabled and have none of these issues. Wonder why so many people are having problems?

It could be a specific ad that is causing it that you're not getting on the iPad as mobile gets different ads then desktop.

There are SO many variables making it impossible to pin down. While the ads do impact, there's your device, operating system, browser, what other tabs one has open, what one has installed, one's internet provider/speed, adblockers, when our techs are doing stuff with the servers, time of day, if one is browsing as a guest or logged in, what options you've elected in your User CP..etc...etc....etc. I can tell you the site slows immediately following a newsletter blast, with members clicking on the links bringing them here.
I wish there was one fix for everyone, but there just isn't. Even I have issues some days.
