So, I'm crusing the "New Posts," and it has been 9 pages of "Seajay's" stuff, well not really so, but I do read his verbose posts, and I'm over to page number 7 when I click on page 8, I get this message that basically has timed me out.
Now think, I'm sitting here reading Seajay's long posts, I have "honey" do's, and trying to read the other "interesting" postsl, and then I get timed out with two pages to go. The only option that I can think of is to click on "New Posts" again, and get 6-8 more pages of new post, and old posts I may be interested in. Yes, I'm interested, but I would have liked to have finished the old "new posts" before I got to the new "new posts."
Any thoughts on this?
I know Seajay will have some.
Does this happen to anyone else?

I had this happen earlier... What I did was finally 'repair' my own internet connection.. Right click the 'internet connection' icon on the right of the Start bar and hit 'repair'...

It's happened to me a couple times, going from page to page. Not sure what's causing it.

I'm on a MAC. There is no need to repair anything, but thanks.
When I'm on the Windows laptop it behaves the same way.
I'm thinking there is an inactivity time out, or just time out somewhere. I'm expecting today It will trigger again, as I have 11 pages to catch up on. Gee! I need to get a life.
Well, Seajay's Sea Stories are quite lengthy to read, and I would not want to miss an opportunity to comment on his story pages.

Wayne, when you log in do you click on the 'remember me' icon thingy. I never have received a timed out message and I click that link to just stay logged on all the time.
Of course I may not be understanding you message being a lowly naval type myself.

D & D,
It is not a log in "thingie," but a "stay alive" thingie that is timing out. I have tried a few different things. First, I use Cool Preview in Firefox on the MAC (No one please tell me to use a different browser as it just will not happen.) At first I thought it was because Cool Preview did not "really" activate the page. So, every 2nd page or so I would actually click on a thread link in the page and then use the "back" to go back to the page with all the threads. That did not work also. My thoughts are that the forum is using a "time on" feature so that they do not have members sign on and just leave their compute on that web site so they log them out. I don't know. Just rambling I guess.

Have you tried hitting the reload function every few pages?

The problem with hitting the refresh page is that it will give you all New Posts that have been added since starting to browse. When I'm at 11 pages already, I'm ready to move on to something else when I get to the end (11th page). I'd never finish my "housework" if I stayed on the computer for that length of time.
I would like to get to the last page during the current session, and then at a later time look at new posts.

- At the Apple Logo in the top left hand-side of your apple System Preferences
- On System Preferences go to Network under Internet & Network
- Inside Network you will see the status of your Airport (WIFI) connection, click on the top button Advanced.
- On the Airport Control Panel got to the TCP/IP tab
- Inside TCP/IP you will see the status of your IPv4 address which usually uses DHCP (Dynamic Host Controller Protocol). This a protocol that is used to assign your IP, lease length and default gateway to grant you access to the Internet.
- On the right of the panel click on the Renew DHCP Lease tab in order to renew your IP connection from the router, doing this will allow you to restore your connection and improve your browsing speed.
Try resetting your router also...

And if I'm directly connected to the Airport Router utilizing an Ethernet cable (RJ45)?
Actually I can renew my lease using a direct connect also. But that does not work either. I really do not believe that this is a function of anything on my computer as it works the same whether I'm on the MAC or the Windows Laptop. I'm more suspect that it is a timing item in the forum software.

I thought so too.. especially since it seemed all other sites worked just fine. After doing the 'repair' (which also flushes the DNS Cache and TCP stack) it worked..

I renewed the IP with the Renew DHCP Release for both the Ethernet and Airport extreme. I use APExt for Apple TV. The next time I log onto the forum and have several pages, I'll see if it works. I do not suspect that it is going to help.
