How do I respond to a post?

I just signed up today and I can't figure out how to respond to a post. What's "quote"?

Figured out how to respond to posts

I'm sorry to take up space here with elementary questions - I went to the right forum and researched FAQs to get my answer. Hopefully I'll be better informed in the future. Thanks everyone!

All you do is start typing in the "quick reply" box at the end of the page, when your done hit "post quick reply". If you want to comment on a specific reply someone gave, then you hit the "quote" spot and their reply will come up in another box and you type your reply after the quote, and then hit "post quick reply". There may be other ways as I don't use all the other tabs, but this works for me.

I was going to say "be nice and don't be a know it all", but I guess you meant how to actually create a response.

How is it one careless match can start a forest fire but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?

Guess the newbie told you.

Sorry, but I was thinking along those lines too, I just resisted the urge to post, well actually, Pushedaround beat me to it!

Welcome!

Be careful posting... someone almost always takes mine and uses bad grammar and misspells words....

Chrome, Firefox and IE all have spell check.

iRV2 does not have spell check.
