How do you search for a string of words?

How do you tell the search function to look for a string of words?

I have tried putting them in quotes and that does not work, it still returns hits on each individual word.

I'm looking for a answer to "how to be vintage"

Glenn

I use the powered by Google search box. It'll return results from the phrase, not just the individual words.

Quotes plus trying different common uses such as :"considered vintage" returns a bunch. Change the string with other choices being a net as possible: "difference between antique and vintage"

Even with words contained in quotes in the advanced search function of the forum it returns hits on the individual words.

I've recently gone through the same frustration here and another (different theme) site. I think that it's a vBulletin and a couple others that build on the same software wrinkle. There are things I dislike about Google, but they do have a decent word string search function

If I'm having troubles on any ole search engine I use google outside the forum to hit the mark. If I want iRV2 results I search within the forum.

The forum's search engine "faults" have been discussed in many threads. The 2nd Sticky in this forum is a different search from another member that many seem to have great luck with. Check out that thread for info.

The Google function worked well for me yesterday after my frustration with the site's own search 'thing'.

Lori, Thanks for pointing me (us!) in the right direction
