How to search?

If I'm searching for "antenna leak" or "antenna water leak", search still underlines each word and puts a comma between each word in spite of the quote marks. Then I have to view all posts that have each word in it. I'm certain there is a simple way, but how? Thanks!

There's a fairly good write-up on the "Search" feature in our FAQ titled "Searching Forums and Threads " that may be of some help to you, it describes how to use the search engine that we have.

IMO, our search engine leaves a lot to be desired. I think it searches for each word in a phrase independently irregardless of quote brackets. That's a pretty lousy way but that is how it works, it is what it is.

Yeah, that's what it does. It's really hard to find a previous thread/post even when you know how the title was worded. The function brings up any & all threads/posts containing each individual word. It's cumbersome & sometimes I just give up & ask my question again to save me the frustration of dealing with the Search.

How is it one careless match can start a forest fire but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?

Hey, I'm glad there's a search engine! Once I understood how it works, I learned to frame my question to get a comprehensive response and, if necessary, limit the response by date or by number of replies. But I agree, it would be nice if one could search by phrase instead of by single words.

You could use google to search the forum as well. Here's a link to a custom search that will only return irv2 info.
