I can't tell if thanks given to others are received. It says send thanks but doesn't let you know if they got them.

Since the forum software sends the "thanks" out through the Private Messaging channel, it's as though you've sent a PM to somebody as you already know as it shows up in your PM "Inbox." As such, you will not know if the other party has received it or not just as you wouldn't know if somebody you sent a PM to absolutely received it other than if your settings are such that allows you keep a copy of a sent PM (but that doesn't actually show receipt).

As far as I know, vBulletin does not have the option of having a "thanks" be kept as an outgoing PM in your "Sent Items" box but perhaps Cliff knows of a tweak in the forum's administration panel that now allows a "thanks" to be kept in the sending person's "Sent Items" box --or better yet, to actually show receipt on the other end?

Cliff am I correct in my thinking for those of us that use a iPad you do not have the ability to send the automated thank you.

Yes if you're referring to the app. You can access the site via safari and it's there.

So.. each member can configure the notification preferences for the thanks they receive.

When you send a thanks it displays to the member who sent it on their profile page and they may of may not get a notice about this depending on the notification choices they've made.

For those sending thanks - they are sent automatically by the system and even if the member who received the thanks has elected to get a a PM, the sent item will not display in the sender sent folder.
