IE Locking Up on iRV2 Page Load

For the past several days, IE has been locking up completely here in iRV2 on certain page loads. It locks up to the point that it won't respond to keyboard commands (including attempting to highlight the file that's being downloaded at the time) and requires booting up Task Manager to close and restart IE. The glance I've gotten at the bottom of the screen of the site that's hanging IE up is something similar to the following:

downloading http:ds.serving.sys

I suspect this is associated with Google Ads, but it's making iRV2 basically unusable.

I just tried IE10 with Windows 7 and had no problems navigating or posting.

What OS and version of IE are you using?

Dirk, it's an intermittent problem. It will happen maybe once every 10-20 page loads - however often that particular site is called up. Perhaps your cookies aren't directing GoogleAds to load that particular site on your computer - did you see that address at the bottom of the screen in your testing? The next time it locks up, I'll manually copy the url and update the thread with as much info as I can get.

I'm running Windows 7 and IE 8.0.7601.17514 on my company computer as mandated and pushed down by our IT group.

OK, it just locked up again. url was http://bs.serving-sys.com/BurstingPi...n=rsb&c=28&plt............... (I stopped writing at the 28&plt - that should be enough for GoogleAds to identify whomever is pushing the offending url!!)

The .......... takes the place of additional characters in the url that I didn't bother transcribing. The intermediate ... after BurstingPi was a truncation by the vBulletin word processor in the post, I suppose.

That won't help Rusty. See the last line of his post #3 above.

How is it one careless match can start a forest fire but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?

Rusty,
I have been having the same problem. I thought it was my computer, and this stupid Windows 8 that I am using. I am sorry you are having problems, but am glad it is not just me.

But at least it lets someone know that it seems to be more localized to IE.

Windows 8 x64 w/Chrome and all ok here.

IE is a POS! We're stuck with it because of certain web-sites we use that won't accept anything else. I use Google Chrome for about 95% of my browsing, it's anywhere from 10% to 100% faster than IE.

I should point out that, being a parsimonious bastard, I'm still running Win XP and IE8. When I finally upgrade from my present desk-top, maybe I'll join the modern world. It will probably be Windows 12 and IE 30 by then!

Parsimonious. - now that is a good word I don't often see. But used correctly, as you did, I think it was/is effective.

Sometimes we have to dig deep to use the correct word or phrase for the occasion. Did you dig deep in your memory bank, or did it just roll of your tongue/fingers as being the right word to use at the time.

You made me chuckle so early in the morning. Good show regardles of how you conjured it up.
