I see in my User CP a 'blocked forums' section. It is empty. I do want to block some forums that I have no interest in, but can not find out how to do so.

Help please!

Open the forum you want to ignore.
Look for the forum tools drop down menu at the top of that forum and then select ignore forum.

You can undo this action from your user cp.

Thanks for the quick reply Janet. I do not have a forum tools bar available I think. The screenshot attachment shows what I see.

There any way to do this with the primary parent forums? I've set the vast majority of them to Ignore, but they still show up in the main listing.

Not exactly.... but you can close the section so it doesn't take up much space.
Look for the small arrow in the right corner of the category title line

That works great, except that I want to remove all the forums from view except for the New Member Check-In, Announcements, Tech Support, and Vintage Forum, which are part of the same group as the forums I wish to ignore, so I can't minimize them very well
