I love the iRV2 iPad app, but I miss the ability to add the little smiley faces to my posts. Is this not doable with the iPad app for some reason?

Please remember it's a free app to a free web site.

Options are limited by development/implementation costs.

It's not built into the app, but you can do it anyway. You just need to know the code for the smilie you want to use. Like
Code:
for or
Code:
:thumb:
for

O don't know about the IPad, but there is an app for the iPhone that puts the 's on your keyboard. It is called EMOJI FREE. It has a lot of different icons. 

Emoji is not smilies. They don't work in most forums.

We don't see the icons. Only little boxes.

They show up on the iPad and iPhone, but only because iOS has native Emoji support. I don't see them on my iMac.

I used colon frown colon, colon blush colon, and colon thumb colon for the above three emoticons. I'm running Firefox 8 on an iMac and all three show up as they are supposed to.
