iRV2 classified Bargains ?

There has recently been a series of amazing listings for Class A Diesel Pushers for less than $50 k. Just today, a 2006 Monaco w 50,000 miles for $38K. I'm guessing these are bogus since they disappear from the classifieds fairly quickly as if the Moderators are deleting them. Anybody know what's going on here?

Note to moderators, these ads are always by Junior Members. Other sites I am involved with won't let anyone post a classified unless they have posted at least 25 comments. Might be a good idea for IRV2.

The moderators have to constantly be on the vigil for the scum bag scammers. They appear out of the woodwork. At least they get them and put the ads off line before someone is scammed.

Yep. We've been keeping an eye out for scammers. Thanks for noticing.

We greatly appreciate our members reporting suspicious ads so that we can evaluate them. Please continue to report any ad that "just doesn't look right".

We frequently review our ad posting policies to see if we need to make any changes to help prevent these scams.

We cannot require a minimum post restriction as the forum software and classified software are two different databases.

We feel the benefit of members that join only to post an ad provides our other members many more ads than if we restricted those ads.

We are seeing more scam ads on our other SK sites also and if it becomes excessive or overwhelming, we will have to take another look at new member restrictions.

Thanks for your help.

What is the best way to report suspicious ads?

Click on the ad

Click on "Product Options" at the upper right corner of the ad

Click on "Report Product"

Enter the reason in the "More information" box

Click on "Report Review"

As they noted...the members are what makes the site work. The moderators and administrators have a lot to watch and any reports from the members are greatly appreciated by them. So if you see anything that does not pass your smell test, report it. More eyes on the forums help.

So when do you clean out the sold ads. It seems that they last forever when marked SOLD.

The classified software, which is from a third party, has a bug which erroneously marks some ads as sold.

If we delete the sold ads we could mistakenly delete some ads that should not be deleted and once they are deleted, they are gone forever.

However, we are working on a solution.
