I never log off when I leave this site, and have checked the "remember me" box. This site will keep my log in information for a few days, and then, one day when I come back in, the log in information is gone and I have to log in again. It's very irritating to say the least. Why does this site keep losing the log in information?

This has occasionally happened to me, too. If I went to my Preferences & cleared my cookies it would resolve itself. You might give that a try. Let me know if you're still having problems & I can have it looked into further.

Not sure which internet browser you use ( I use firefox ) but at least for me when I check remember me on this site that information is stored on my computer. If I clear my browsing history or run some of the other tools I have like spybot I loose my log on information.

As the others have noted, it's a cookie issue on your computer and clearing them will take care of the problem.

Your browser configuration could be set to renew cookies periodically, or as stated they have been cleared out. Check your configuration to see how your cookies information (privacy tab) is set up.

I'm happy to have seen this thread. It reminded me to go in and clear out all my cookies. Doing that means that I have to remember my passwords, but I do. It is so unfortunate that web sites advertisements take liberties and put their cookies on our computers.

There are ways to block them if anyone is interested.

I have a huge amount of user name and password required sites that I use daily. If I clear my cookies my daily routine becomes a PITA having to enter everything on each site. So there is good and bad about cookies. Many sites that I use [not this one] will autofill all my info with one click. I am an avid internet sweepstaker ever since I won a $40,000 5th wheel on an internet sweepstake. Happy Travels, Joe

There are several things that may be affecting your experience here.

While clicking the 'remember me' box may work for the forum, you may have to log in again at classifieds. When you change pages a cookie keeps you logged in here if you have clicked remember me, but your computers own virus protection or security scheme may be purging these cookies despite the fact that you clicked 'remember'.

You can try the following things:

1. Set your system security settings to medium.
2. Be sure that you have enabled cookie handling.
3. Check your Virus protection software (especially Macaffee users) and be sure that cookie handling is not being blocked there - you can specifically allow cookie exchange with our site.
