Loud AD in your side panel...
Your redo on the page is nice, and I like the camp pictured above better than the other - and I understand completely about monetizing the site - I might even copy your layout on my own site since it is very pleasing to the eye and usable, yet gets some extra ads in.
However
IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT IT IS ILLEGAL TO HAVE ADS WITH SOUND WITHOUT A VOLUME CONTROL WHICH ALLOWS US TO TURN OFF THE SOUND!!!
I regularly check the ads and go to sites of interest, and I can tolerate the bouncing dancing attention getters, but NOT sound blaring out while I am reading. No, I can NOT turn of the sound to my entire system, because often I am listening for other stuff, listening to music, or talking on Skype.
Can you PLEASE do something about those ads - at the very least require them to have a visible volume control.

What law is that? Never heard of it.
But I do find it annoying to have to keep turning my sound off ever so often. It even seems they turn the sound on if it's off.

I normally hear nothing when browsing.. You see, I open the computer's VOLUME CONTROL and tick the MUTE ALL box.

That is not something we have any input with or control of.

Tritto Firefox and Adblock Plus- but at the very least, you can just left-click the speaker icon on your toolbar at the bottom of the page and then click Mute.
Personally, I find it astonishing that anyone still uses Internet Explorer these days.

And further, I am bemused at how amazed you are at my astonishment...

I use an ipad and have never heard any sound from any ads. I guess I have Steve Jobs to thank for that?

I wouldn't be without AdblockPlus on FireFox. I gave up IE long ago.
