I got the Superfish warning from one of my A/V products and I was accessing a known clean file on my own computer.. it specifically warned me of Superfih on Leveno machines (Short eplanation follows) Alas, all my Leveno computer (1) was sent to Laptop On Call, with a promise of only 1 dollar extra for one day service.... Well once they got it they wanted 50 bucks (49) for one day so I decided to wait.. Finally the tracker stopped working,, If I ever get to that town...

meanwhile I have non Leveno computers, including the one the warning pops up on.

Superfish is a bit of malware Leveno installed to "Improve your web browsing experience".

The problem is not with IRV, and has nothing to do with IRV..

That said... IRV is supported by a advertiser pool, A outside service puts up the ads and pays IRV for the privledge.

Sometimes they link to sites I'd rather not link to.. When the IRV admins figure it out,, they block that advertiser. This is true of most all the web sites I visit.

Thanks for the replies. I suspect one of the advertiser programs was trying to tie to Superfish as I got the warning each time I renewed the IRV2 forum.

Seems to be OK today. No warnings from my security software. I am using Norton and Malwarebytes already. The Malwarewarebytes firewall was what was stopping the Superfish connection.

My system is fine and was never infected (knock on wood.) I just posted the observation as a warning to others and info to admins that something funny might have been going on.

I use Google Chrome w/ad blocker - no issues and thankfully no ads!

Even though you are using malwarebytes, you'll need to uninstall that bloatware or it will happen again. if you run a full malwarebytes scan, it may offer you a removal tool.
