Need a hint on the password.

Well my email that I have had for about 10 years got
Hi-jacked. It got hit so bad hotmail shut it down.
So now I have a new one. and go to all the forums i am on and change out the email.
Anyway I have forgotton my password here
If someone whould tell me the password requirements I can figure which password I used for this site.

I can't use the password reseter becasue I currently cant get to my old email.
Catch 22
I can't put in my new email and new password without the old password.

There are ways to have your computer remember your password so you don't have to type it all in every time.

That's how mine is setup.

I haven't typed in my password for years on here.

@Mekanic....if you ask one of the moderators they will help you out. Go to some of the other threads and look for a reply from a moderator and send him a message.

Better than the computer remembering it, pay for and download 1Password. It runs on PC or MAC, is password protected, and can hold a lot more information than just passwords. You can sync it between computers using Dropbox, or copy the keyring to a thumb drive

Very intuitive.

I know that is not an answer to your question, so shoot an email to an Admin, or MOD. I'll bet they can help you out.

As Mr. D state, how did you post here without a password?

Even better, download and install the FREE program called KeePass. I first heard about this freebie from the Kim Kommando column a year ago or so. I have used it ever since. You only have to remember one password to get into KeePass and then you have all the passwords/userids/supporting data accessible to you. The data base for the program in on your PC and heavily encrypted to block access if the password is not known.

Go to "User CP", click "User Details", then "Edit Details".

Your password will show as all dots, you can change your password here to anything you want.

Nope sorry . No matter which way I get there I see this

"Enter your present password to continue:"
And I do not see any dots.

If i just knew if there was one letter required
And/OR if the min number of digits is 4 or 6 or 7
Things like that would help a lot.

There are some 3rd party tools to get the password out of your browser, but your security software will try to reject it as it is a hack, you are basically hacking your own computer, but it is legal because it is YOUR computer. Depending on what browser you have, do a search on google as it may be the only way to get your password back.

For security reasons your password cannot be viewed or retrieved by yourself or iRV2 staff.

We can reset your password and then you can change it to a password you prefer.

Obviously, you had checked the "Remember Me" box, which enables you to be automatically logged in.
