I can understand the potential issue with a provider blocking emails from a particular domain, and how that might prevent someone from getting notification emails from the forum. But I am getting notification emails: I get all of the individual topic instant notification emails, and the private message notifications, just not the forum daily digest notifications. I would think a provider problem would cause all emails to be blocked, not just some of them.

I run my own domain name, I do not use one of the commodity email providers (gmail, yahoo, etc.) The email server does not do any spam filtering, all received email gets delivered to my email client, and my client application does the spam processing. I check my spam folder routinely, several times a day.

I mostly use the web pages to browse the forum using a desktop computer and a web browser. I usually follow links in the notification emails, which open the topics in my web browser. I rarely use the iPad or iPhone app: it's been many months (or years?) since I used either, I've only been using them in the last few days, and only AFTER the daily digest notifications have stopped coming. (Since I'm not getting the forum notifications, it's a bit easier to browse subscribed forums with the iPad app, compared to the regular web pages.)

I can see why the developers would want to eliminate the common mail blocking cause early. However, since multiple people are reporting that they are getting instant notifications, but not daily digests, I would think the first place to look would be the daily digest scheduling/processing code. At least that is where I would start, being a professional software developer myself.

With several people complaining thar digests stopped working all at the same time, and it was right when the system was down for maintenance, I would think it has something to do with changes that were made during the maintenance. The fact that one person who stopped getting daily digests has reported that he started getting forum notifications again once he switched to instant notifications seems to clinch it in my mind that it is a digest processing problem, not a general email delivery problem. Have the developers tried subscribing to daily digests for a few active forums, and if so, are they getting them? That's the first thing I would check if I were in their shoes.

Today, the software is sending notifications over and over. I've gotten the same six or eight at least 10 times.

Hmmm... No forum digests for me, just the regular topic notifications. :(

Please see THIS thread for the multiple notifications issues.

We're trying to keep these issues separate. So if you have no notification issues post in this thread. If you have multiple notifications issues, please post in the other thread I linked to.

Thanks.
Lori-

P.S. Our techs are aware/working both issues.
