Picklehead -- I don't see the green IRV2 supporter tag below your avatar. Did you forget to renew?

I'm with several others. Firefox and add blocker works for me.

About the same cost as a magazine subscription and worth more, much more.

I, too am an AdBlock Plus lover and have been for about as long as it has been available. Seldom is an ad slipped by that app.

As far as 'supporting' the advertisers - if a product is needed/wanted, I don't need to have it drilled into my sub conscious by these annoying popups, it will be purchased somewhere. I do gladly support some of the sponsors.

What is becoming almost as annoying are the little video clip screens found on several of the media websites. I don't need them to tell me exactly the same thing I'm reading. Hopefully AdBlock comes up soon with a way to stop them too.

So far, not a site supporter but will send my bucks soon to help a bit

AdBlocker

OK, stuck my head back in here to see what sort of hoofaraw I raised about the ads and read about the AdBlocker. Got it, love it, wish I had heard about it a long time ago. OK, I'll settle down again thanks folks.

I do not think that political add came from this site. It could have come from a previous page at another URL. But I would have to reproduce it. I have a reverse proxy so I can see page requests from a page I have loaded. I can block all that as well. I work in networking security but not web security. There are lots of ways to place things hidden in web pages or may I should not so obvious.

But ask the web master for this site first and give the URL of the page you believe this occurred on.

I guess I am another one of those lucky guys. I have not ever seen any political ads while on this site. And even if I did I wouldn't get upset over it. It is only an ad. Great site.

I don't see pop-up ads on this site. There are ads on the right side, but are not pushy nor verbal. I think it could be the browser you are using. I use Firefox and don't get pop-up ads unless I link to some outside pages. That is from any site.

I have always found this site to be painfully slow and overburdened with ads. As an internet explorer user, the adblocker plus didn't work for me here. Well tonight I tried it with firefox. Wow, just wow. It's a night and day difference here.

Thanks for the heads up

I attributed it too having a senior moment when these ads came on, just figured it was something I had running in the background. Ad blocker got it. Like always when I read here I learn here.
