I never see them and did not know they were there,
because firefox and adfender blocks them out.

I believe you are looking for ways to block them.

Most browsers have ways to block ads. You can also
add on adfender, which is free.

I have been using adfender on my computers for sometime
now. As the ads get tiresome. If I had children I would probably
have more blockers.

Barb,
I'm not sure about other browsers, but Firefox also has a check box under the privacy tab that can be checked to tell sites not to track you.

So far, that and Ad-Block Plus has worked. I don't see any ads at all using FF.

You know, I'm not offended by the topic of the ad, but the assumption I'm so stupid that I'd think that there are '5 secrets to a flat belly' that I'd pay for. The reason I use AdBlock is that I resent the time, memory, and bandwidth to download them. What's wrong with condom ads? They prevent disease and are a legitimate product for many. I see these ads as a demonstration of free speech, in that any idiot may advertise to try and get my attention and money. I don't need laws to protect me, it's my common sense. State lotteries and casinos are the perfect example, they can advertise and promise a winner and I can use common sense and math and see the falsehood of their claims and not participate. I see them as commerce to help pay for government and keep small businesses (convenient stores) and large, (TV, newspapers) going with sales and advertising.

I usually only see ads for Trucks, RV and Truck equipment, insurance and home remodeling. I don't mind the few ads...pays the bills here.

Safe travels

Just be aware that the checkbox only tells sites that you don't WANT to be tracked, it does not prevent them from tracking you anyway.

+1 on ad-block plus. I see no ads at all when using it.

The tracking check box at least keeps the honest sites, well honest. There are always those that are malevolent.

Ever wonder how some sites get your email address and all you did was visit the site?

Works everywhere, easy to install, free, and more secure than IE (by far).

I also install FlashBlock that places a 'Play' button on ALL flash content. Flash components (like menus etc) then need to be clicked before they will display.
