I resized my photos to 512 x 384

The photo input on iRV2 gives me a:

The file you uploaded was not an acceptable format.: Diffoilchange.bmp

What am I doing wrong?

Only file types "jpg, jpeg, png" are accepted by the photo program and jpg or jpeg is by far the most common type of photo file.

The "bmp" you tried to upload will not be accepted by the photo program.

Max-
I am pretty darned proud of how you have figured out this photo thing in the last year! There is a way to convert it with proper software...but...You can email it to me and I can convert it if you like...

Photos almost always magically appear as .jpg.

Some documents are .bmp.

If the photo is from your camera, it should be .jpg right out of the camera.

I'll work on the new computer picture input problem later--

Max,
When you are saving pics from the camera card to the computer or resizing your pics, there are two "Drop Down" menus. Make sure that the "file type" listed just below the "save as" shows JPG and not BMP before you tell it to save.

Got it!!!

Its taken me a good 4 hours, but I found the culprit

After I went to outer space (infran View) to resize the photos and to file them back on my "new computer" I noticed on the bottom format tray it was "set" to default to that windows "bmp" format. I changed it to the jpg format and I think that has solved my problem. Phew, what a chore for a guy with no computer training/skills.

This new HP laptop has been a real pain in the neck. It took two days just to get it on line with a cable modem. I thought I was in India after 7 hours on the phone with lously connections--. I gave up on those folks and took it to a local computer guy and when I told him my problems he said " I can tell you what to do without turning it on---" I said pleeze, pleeze tell me and hurry up about it-- Ha,Ha ! He said remove all that security crap they send out with new computers, ie Norton, and you'll be all set. He was right, I did--- and it went right in to the internet. He told me he see's that all the time. Oh well, live and learn

Thanks to ya'll,
