In the past, whenever someone sent me a PM, or replied to a PM I had sent them, I would be notified by a highlighted "PM" box next to the "yellow arrow" box on the top tool bar.

Now, I do not get the "PM" box. Has that feature gone away?

I do still get an email notification when a PM arrives, so thanks for that.

Hi Ed,

We still have the "PM" feature, I had one today. I also am getting the email notifications.

For the email notifications, you'll need to verify a few of your settings:
  1. <LI>Private Messages, Subscribed Content is activated.
    <LI>It reflects "All Private Topics".
    <LI>Immediate Notification by Email is selected.

Good luck with it, see you in Branson if not sooner.

Thanks Richard. I also must be too close to the forrest.....I still do not get any indication while on the iRV2.com site. I AM getting the EMAIL notification, but nothing "lights up" here on the site.

Ed,

Since you're saying you previously got the PM indicator and now you don't, try clearing cookies and Temporary Internet files to see if that will clear it up.

Let me know when you're ready and I'll send you a test 'PM'.

Ed, I received a PM notification on iRV2 when you PM'd me today so it's working in "some" fashion....

THANK you RICHARD&gt; it is working again, NOW. apparantely, clearing the cookies did the trick.

I wish I had a clue about WHY these things work, but since we have good folks like you, I don't HAVE to worry about it! ED

Hey Ed:

A little trick...when cleaning up internet temp files and the such in the IE TOOLS&gt;Options menu, don't use the "Delete Cookies" button, but instead, use the Settings [Button]&gt;View Files, then select only those entries that you would want to delete. Of course, do this AFTER using the "Delete Files" Button and "Clear History" (if you so desire). A little trial & error will help you learn which to delete and which not...

I keep getting a PM notification, but there isn't a new message.

I am set up for e-mail notification, and I am not getting an e-mail, but when I sign on iRV2, there is the new PM icon.

Ideas?

Since your notifications are turned on and the delivery method selected is an instant email, the system should be sending them out to your email address: tpdietrich@sbcglobal.net. Check your firewall and/or spam settings, they may be getting blocked. If you have a 'Spam" folder that junk goes into, look in there.
