Posting a picture problems

I wanted to post 1 (one) picture for my fellow posters to view. The message that came up said "exceeds file size limit". It's one picture, not a 14 minute video. It's a .jpg picture.

I tried to follow the directions for uploading a photo and that's the message I got.

Can you help me?

Large dimension pictures that have been taken at high resolution make for large files. The easy thing to do would be to open the picture in MS Paint and resize it to something like 240 x 360, 300 x 400 or 360 x 480 pixels. Then save it under another file name if you want to preserve the original. That should also decrease the file size. I think that'll work.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

The file size limit for a JPG file is 2mb, with a maximum dimension of 1,600 pixels. If you right click on your image and select "Properties" you'll see the numbers for your file. As Craig_R says, you can resize an image in MS Paint.

You are absolutely correct. Large JPEG photos need to be reduced in size.
