Question Profile Comment Notification?

Is there a way to receive notification when somebody leaves a comment on one's "profile" page?
I was actually unaware of that feature and only by accident discovered that I had a message there.
I did apologize to the sender for not responding sooner but would like to avoid future misunderstandings...
I looked at "settings" on my User page and nothing seems to fit the bill- am I missing it?

Thanks

Francesca

No, there isn't a notification for Profile Comments. It would be nice if there was one as I, too, have missed comments left by members.

How is it one careless match can start a forest fire but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?

There isn't a flashing sign or noise to let you know you have a message. But up in the upper right there is a box that says:

Welcome, (your name)
You last visited: Today at 02:39 PM Private Messages: Unread 0, Total 1.

And if you click on where it says private messages it will take you to your inbox.

The OP is referring to Profile Comments, not Private Messages. There's a difference.

Slight hijack here: Actually, for Private Messages (PM), you can set a preference to have a new PM appear as a pop-up on your iRV2.com window when you have a new message. Not a flashing sign or noise, but if one has pop-ups enabled, that's one indicator (the other is an email notification) you have a new PM.
