If I step up to an enhanced subscription will the page load faster and will the Memory warnings go away. It is getting to be a pain to just subscribe to this website as every page takes forever to load and I have broadband. It will be worth the extra cost but I want to make sure it will solve the issues.

I use Chrome. I don't have these problems with any other forum I subscribe to. It is like the site loads a lot of stuff when I open it or click on a topic. I also get high memory use warnings from my laptop. Again no other site does this.

Dell laptop

Windows 7

Does Windows and Chrome have the current updates applied?

Can you try a different browser, Firefox or IE?

No, I don't want to run different browsers for different websites. The only website I have this issue with is this one. I did have a similar issue a few years ago on the FTE site which was remedied by upgrading my subscription to their version of an enhanced membership. It eliminated a lot of the ads that had to load when logging in or changing screens. If this enhanced membership doesn't do that, I guess I'll just have to put up with the slow loading of the pages here. I don't want to go through another changing of browsers like when I changed to Chrome from IE due to the security issues with IE a year or so ago.

It does load slightly quicker on my Kindle but it still has an annoying habit of jumping the screen a few lines after a page loads. That makes it so if I click on something I want to see, it often loads the topic a couple of lines below the one I wanted. If I wait a few more seconds (5 or 10) it stabilizes and I can click where I want. If I go to the next screen it starts the process over again. To be clear this happens on both my laptop and my Kindle.

When I return from my next trip I will most probably sign up for enhanced even though that would not resolve my issue. I get plenty of info here which makes the small contribution very worth it in return for what I receive. I just wish the site was quicker to load like all the others I visit.

You could also try temporarily disabling any anti-virus or protection software to see if that helps.

If you're having issues with ads, download an AdBlocker. Most members here have done that. If you haven't already, turn off the right column via the User CP/Edit Options.
