Where did the read new post button go in a subscribed thread? I no longer see it using the web interface.

Not sure what you mean by "web interface"?

If you are using the app, try deleting and reinstalling the app.

Also be sure you are logged in to be able to post.

I'm using Chrome on an Android tablet, not the app. I am logged in.

Using a PC with Chrome or IE:

Log In
Selected User CP
Click on a subscriber message
Near the top, there is a button for "View First Unread"

Do the same thing using Chrome on an Android device (not the iRV2 app) and the "View First Unread" button does not exist.

So, on my Android tablet I can use Chrome and not be able to take advantage of the "View First Unread" feature or I can use the Android App and not be able to see or even know if there is a poll associated with a thread.
