Replying to a post & adding a Link

I just lost a long post - 2X. You'd think I'd learn!

When replying I was typing the reply and then wanted to add a link. I left the reply screen up as is and searched for my link. I copied the link address and used the Back Arrow to go back to my Reply screen and everything was gone.

Then I remembered what I had to do at other times when this happened....I'd type the reply and Save it. Then I found the link; I wanted to insert; did Control C; went back to the Edit and brought up my text and added the link by hitting the link symbol and then Control V. Then saved it again.

This seems like such a clunky way of inserting a link in the original Reply screen. What am I doing wrong?

Is there a sensible way to be in the Reply screen, type text, search for the link, return to the Reply screen by the back arrow, and insert that link without losing everything in the process?

I can do this in other forums but cannot do it here.

Thanks. I'm old school/old body/old mind and have never used tabs like this. I just tried it and it worked!

Me too but I've been hacking on these 'puters since '85. Glad it worked for you.
