I too have had problem with only this site loading. Sometimes it freezes up, some times it only partially loads a page, takes time to load a page, takes time to load a link to get to a message. It has been this way for more than a week. Very annoying. It is happening on both my MacBook Pro and my Dell desktop. I have tried clearing cookies, etc., no change. It is as if it is locking up loading ads versus the content of the site that we come here to read.

Using Chrome, I started experiencing page "hangs" today.
For the time being, I turned off the right column, and the problem is gone.
I will try turning the ads on later.....

I apologize for the issues. We are aware of the problem and working to resolve it. As it's intermittent not everyone is affected and this makes trouble shooting tougher as well. stay tuned..

Spinroch, how did you turn off the right column? I could not figure it out.
Thanks,

Rick

No worries. Thanks to both of you.
It seems to be faster now though.

Thank you so much for the update. Very much appreciated. Even if there is not a resolution, it's great to get updates one way or another.
Thank you Janet

Closed the right panel as some have suggested - big, big improvement. And - BTW - when the right panel is open (not logged in), using Chrome, I have a progress bar at the bottom - when the site is locking up it will say things like "waiting for cache", or waiting for u-tube ( or double click etc. there's a bunch of these) or "processing request".
