I don't see any red text. Mine are all blues & blacks. Also, when I quote someone, the quotes are not in italics? Wonder why the differences?

The background could be a softer color, difficult for me to read after a few minutes. I also liked the way the quotes were background colored in the old format.

But why should we NOW have to adjust anything, we didn't have to before. The site designers have to realize the demographic of the people here. Any size reduction in fonts, tables, etc. is typically a hindrance.

Unless, there is a reason why the change was needed, I say go back.

Red text seen, when I last replied, but only in my signature site.

While I do think the new look is cleaner and somewhat less cluttered there is still room for improvement.

The gray font against the off-white (eggshell) background is pleasing to the eye but a slightly heavier font would help those of us with aging eyesight.

There seems to be very little delineation between a post's subject line and the actual body of the post.

Like some other members have stated I don't care for the smaller font in the "Recent Posts" area. Nor does it seem to change down to a lighter/smaller font once a subject has been read like it used to do, or was that my imagination.

I do like the fact that IRV2 now actually has a HOME PAGE. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for it.

I don't like the fact that when you quote someone else's post, you now only get a line across the top and along the left side of the quote. Used to have a box drawn all the way around the quote, making it much clearer what was quoted and what the response was.

I agree with dogpatch, we shouldn't have to make changes to our 'Appearance' settings. I was just offering this to those that complain of small text size. Be aware that changing the
Appearance' text size can sometimes cause formatting issues on websites that aren't able to handle it.

I don't see the need to make the style changes in the iRV2 site, they don't seem to be an improvement to me. There are many other forums around that use just indentation and text symbols, they always look very '80's to me. I like the use of graphic boxes this forum used before today.

I noticed it last night before I headed to bed, hoped it was a work in progress. I agree that is seems a bit washed out & tougher on my eyes. Maybe I will get used to that but definately need more distinction when a person is being quoted.

One of the advantages of the change to the new skin is a greater ability to make changes and these issues can be tweaked as we encounter them.

No problems with that, change is difficult for all of us, especially us old folks. I do think the old style box around quoted posts is something to consider, it aided readability. I've read enough misunderstood posts on here to know many of us do not have the best reading comprehension and need all the graphic clues we can get.

I read this forum on an iPad and love the changes. So clear for me to read! I wonder if the differences are the device.

And I'm glad to see the administrators are willing to make running changes as comments come in. Getting rid of all the red is a big improvement, and now it looks like the background is off-white instead of the stark white it was earlier. Those changes coupled with following my own advice and zooming in one click have made the new iRV2 pages much more readable for me. Thanks.

Thanks for your feedback folks...

The design change was made to help the site load faster, simplify a somewhat busy view and to update for the latest round of web browsers out there. We're still tweaking but the basic color palette and layout will be about the same in the end - just a bit cleaner to view. Thanks for your patience
