There are two main reasons;

1. To speed up page loading.

2. The previous skin (software) was not ours and we had limited ability to make changes. This skin (software) was designed by our Interface Admin and we have complete control over it.

I am neutral on the new format. The problem that I have is with the pull dow menu on the top. that add (in this case for Xfinity) blocks items on the pull dow. My question is...how do I remedy this?

I and others have already reported this and was told that it was reported to the developer for correction. In other words, no fix you can do we all must wait until the developer gets arround to fixing this issue.

Ah! Thank you programmers, the background is slightly dimmer and easier on these old eyes.

One user solution is to use 'Ad Block' on your browser and no ads are there to block your view of the drop down menus.

Now if they could somehow add back the distinguishing box around quotes or add a color to a quoted excerpt it would aid readability. Some posts, especially with multiple quotes, get quite confusing now to figure out what's quoted and what's being responded.

All in all, it's getting better.

Just a reminder (to be certain this makes it onto the "to do" list):

When I attempt to read my PMs, the PM menu screen (the first screen after clicking on Your Notifications) will load the graphic boxes at the top and then quit - no access to PM Inbox, Outbox, etc. or to any PMs. This happens at work, at home and with my wife's login as well.

Hmmm... I just read a PM yesterday without any problem.

Sounds like you may be using a different browser, then. My work computer is a HP EliteBook 8460p (3 days old) running IE 8.0.7601.17514 under Windows 7.

This occurs when I have a new, unread PM.

Well, the jury is still out on this one! It will take a bit of getting used to, but I don't see anything (exception below) that we can't live with.

There is one thing, which I believe was true with the old format, that needs to be corrected. When you put your mouse pointer on one of the selections at the top, i.e. "Forums", the large pop-up ad across the middle covers a large part of the selections so you can't even see them. I consider this a huge problem!

OOPS! I should have read the previous posts as others have already pointed this out!

Ad blocker won't do it unfortunately. Even if you remove the bottom ad, the view is still being blocked at the top of the drop-down menus (where the tabs are). I have ad blocker and am seeing the problem same as the others by the top tab portion. I am using IE9.

Ad Block on Crome Mac OS shows no ads at the top or bottom, just 4 little ones on the right side, thus the drop down menus don't get obscured. If I pause Ad Blocker and reload the page, I have 11 ads, top, bottom and sides!

That's one of the reasons I became a 'iRV2 Supporter,' I felt guilty blocking all the ads from this site I enjoy so much I decided to pay. When I turn Ad Block off, I hardly can find things among all the ads!
