the site has been slower for me too since the format change and i have had years to become aclimated, it can be a bit frustrating,
the reason for the speed difference must be reasonably apparent to someone who knows how both servers/platforms were setup,

but the data and people here are as good as before and that is the big draw,
it is a good site

If you are having speed issues, please make sure to try the following:
- Disable the right column (the option to do this is located at the very bottom of the UserCP >> Options page. Here is a link directly to this page.
- Upgrade your browser to the latest version. Here is a link to Internet Explorer and a link to Firefox.
- If you are on a dial up connection you should read these resources:
How to increase effective dial-up speed
HowStuffWorks "How High-speed Dial-up Works"
How to Speed Up a Dial-Up Connection for Free: Internet & Computer Help | eHow.com

Andy, it's obvious you're right and everybody who is having problems with this new site is wrong. Even though WE know what our computers are capable of doing. .

I hesitate to comment again but we seem to have people saying, "God grant me patience, and I WANT IT NOW!".

Read the links? Heck on dial up this site is so overloaded it is nearly impossible to access it. It is not my dial up connection as all other sites load up fairly quickly for a dial up. It is the way this site is configured. I have all but quit coming here because of the hassles of getting on. On top of that when you switched to the "new" site format I lost my old name and could not get on, so I had to sign up all over again.

Don,

I sent you an email regarding merging your new username to your old username.
