Wow! I opened this tread to complain about how the site takes forever to load and then keeps reloading but first I tried the AdBlocker Plus and Zingo! no more problems. Like night and day. Thanks MS Happy Campers and others!

I'm not sure if this is notable, but even with the right column turned off, if one goes to the Blogs section, that column still displays. There are almost a dozen ads in that column. I'm guessing slowness for those that've turned off the right column can be attributed to the ads on that page running, even if one isn't on that page. This is just a guess on my part, so take it for what it's worth.

Every time I change to a new page, my computer temporarily hangs up and then displays a message that a script on IRV2 is running too long, followed by 'stop script?' I hit 'stop script' but then the page goes to the top and I have to go down and search for where I just left off (reading). I think there is one add server that is overloaded and slowing down the whole works.

I don't mind the ads, in fact I sometimes click on something interesting. The problem is the animated (GIF?) ads and the ads running videos that cause the computer to bog down. It comes to a point where I cannot type a reply because the animated stuff is hogging the computer. My text is delayed appearing as I type because of it. In fact, it is doing this right now, as I type. For me the pages load fast enough, just that they bog the computer down.

This is exactly what is happening to me. I have had to abandon posts I was typing because of computer hanging up due to long script and reloading forum. When that happens, everything you typed is gone.

I just cleaned all the cache and did a disk cleanup... removing all temporary files. That seems to be helping with computer resources. At least I'm typing and the characters are coming out on the screen.

I have switched to uBlock Origin for my ad blocker. I had problems with script errors with the other ad blockers.

I followed the suggestions and not having anymore problems. The right column is turned off and news blast disabled. Thanks!
