Those ads keep the site free for registered members. You can do a few things to reduce them:
Turn off the right column (User CP > Edit Options)
Install an ad blocker

I run the Google Chrome web browser with the AdBlock Pro extension and get zero ads.

I hate to use an ad blocker because the ads do help make the service possible. Unfortunately, each page of the iRV2 site now loads on the order of a dozen ads from different sources, and waiting for all the ads to load makes the site very frustrating and agonizingly slow. There comes a time when there are too many ads.

I'm using it at home with a Web browser on a good computer with a 75 mbps Internet connection, and the site's performance with ads is unbearable. Sorry.

Ads are a bandwidth hog and a security risk. I use an adblocker on all sights.

I too experience very poor performance on this site even with ad block. I am a member of several online forums, but this is the only site that is slow. 300mps internet speed on a browser or a tablet does not seem to help. This is the only site that has issues with slowness on my devices. I and others have reported it, but there doesn't seem to be any improvement.

I'm always on my iPad on safari either with wifi or LTE. Ads really do not seem to impact my experience. As has been said, ads pay the bills here, not to mention I occasionally see something interesting.

I pointed out earlier that I understand the need for ads. But downloading a dozen or more ads every time you click on a new page is a performance killer, not to mention that it sucks up valuable bandwidth. My performance has improved drastically since implementing the ad blocker, even though I didn't want to do it.

Lori-

This will reduce most of the loadup delay.
