Angry upside down photos.....Windows 8?

Hello, I am having problems with my photos uploading upside down. I have been in contact with Microsoft support and ...... Microsoft support was no help at all, except for that they say there is a problem with this sites photo uploader...because Windows 8 auto rotates photos uploaded to it for your viewing pleasure.... but doesn't let you see how it really is...so that means that it uploads to sites like these in its original form without the option to rotate it first...and no option to shut this function off...if anyone knows about such things I would appreciate the help.... stupid Windows...

stop standing on your head when you take pics !!!!

is it just this site or others ?

will fight windows 8 as long as I can, but if you use your photo editor to review them and 'right side' up them - you can probably save their orientation...

Are these iPhone pics? I notice a lot of wonky orientation with those.

hahaha! JohnBoyToo, so far just this site, the only other place I have put pics is on FB. Now FB was having the same problem until they updated their photo uploader to corispond with Win8, No Idea what that takes to do just found the info while searching for this Win8 problem.
I tried to put them in photo editor and it shows them to me right side up because Windows 8 has flipped them for viewing, but hasn't actually doneanything with the photo file.

SarahW, yes these are Iphone pics, and there is something with the i4s and newer that the camera/volume button on the side has to be facing the ground to take a right side up photo, this is since the i5 came out with the new ios system, you update your phone and don't even know the change is there until you get upside down pics and try to play with them in Win8.....maddening it is! Stupid Windows!

You can try using Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop. Both of these apps have provisions to flip or rotate an image.

Actually you can use Irfinview (free) to change the orientation. What I like particularly is the batch processing ability.

"Microsoft support and ...... Microsoft support was no help at all, except for that they say there is a problem with this sites photo uploader".

The answer from Ms indicates that it is not a user problem (you), but a problem for the web site that does not load W8 pictures. The webmaster needs to update the photo uploader to w8 specs.

Are the originals upside down? if so, you can go to your picture folder and rotate the picture file there.

I added a picture to my profile which came in upside down. It's not showing up on my reply however. I assume photos have to be approves.
