There are choices between threads and stickies at the top of the page?

A sticky is a thread that we "stick" at the top of forum because of it's importance.

Stickies are at the top of a forum index page and are annotated with a pin symbol. Stickies are subjects that are thought to be important or of enough interest that they stay at the top of the forum index page even with out having recent or current replies to them.

Without a sticky as the thread is not replied to it starts falling down the index page until such a time it's really not visible when on the forum index page without really looking for them.

I believe you are refering to a "Sticky" which is a thread in a forum that has been stuck at the top of the forum permanently due to it's subject matter being of continued relevance or interest to forum members. Hope this helps!

So who makes it a sticky?

You can contact any moderator and they can accomplish that task for you.

Do "Sticky's" ever get removed? I noticed some where there has not been a new post for months.

Sometimes they do get removed however just because there haven't been any posts doesn't mean that they have not been viewed. The purpose is to have them upfront and available.

I have sticky's that follow me all over the forums that are stuck in the Newmar forum.
Look at the three links below in my signature they are important to Newmar owners but are very useful to many other coach owners also.
I will also stick seasonal sticky's in forums that will be removed after winter and maybe replace with a Newbie grounding sticky.
