What's with this goofy Spellcheck?
Why, on this website do we have to download spellcheck in order to check our spelling. I notice that there are a lot of mispelled words. Other websites offer spellcheck without having to go thru any downloading.
We are fortunate that most of the posters here are articulate enough to get their point across even with the mispelled words.

All I have to do is right click and then click on check spelling is almost instant.
You don't have to download every time. Had me fooled for a while there too.

Spell check is a browser function not a web site function.
If you use Firefox, spelling is checked automatically as you type and misspelled words are underlined in red.

If your in an IPad you need to check your own spelling from memory because it takes quite awhile for the spell check to understand your writing and not the words it thinks you type. PIA first couple of months.

Fire Fox has a built in spell check. If you use IE (Internet explorer) down load ieSpell for free and it is a simple mouse click to spell.

I just downloaded ieSpell as you suggested. This post is a test to see if it works..................... I just checked spelling and it works. Thank you TXiceman. It was embarrassing to read some of my prior post and see spelling errors.

I wish Firefox had a grammar checker too.
I type a post, then review it for spelling and grammar before posting it.
I then read it after posting, looking for mistakes.
A few days later I might happen to read my previous post and I correct the mistakes I missed during the first two steps.

Use Firefox, built in speil clunk will work as well as any (That was spelled that way on porpoise in case you think it looks a bit fishy).

I have a fantabulous vocabulary...and can't spell worth beans. I usually can tell when I misspell something, but can't figure out the correct spelling for anything. If it's just one word, I copy it and put it my browser search window, click on it and it will correct it there. I will then click on the right spelling and copy it back into my post. If it's a long post because my brain is on fire and my fingers can't keep up, I copy it into an email form and hit enter. This will underline all my mistaken spelling and I correct it and copy it back into my post. Even with all that, I still have to edit a few times to get it all right.

If you use the icon off to the top right of the edit window, this will direct you over to the ieSpell Check website where you can download the app. See the attached graphic, it looks like √ and abc on com of the check mark.
While the editor window is open, you access the app by right clicking. There are 4 items in my pop-up, ieSpell Check, Wikipedia, Merriam Webster and ieSpell Check Options.
When I was using IE8 the misspelled words would highlight in the editor window. Using IE9 the words are no longer highlighted. Can't figure it ....
I wish they had an app for stoopid grammar mistakes!

I wish they had an app I could talk to dictation style, but then I wouldn't get any exercise at all!
