I know I'm getting old and feeble, but look as hard as I might, I can't find how to get to the Chat Rooms with this new software. Help?http://www.irv2.com/forums/images/smilies/redface.gif

They haven't added them back in yet, they're on the To-Do list

Thanks Redneck. Also, how do I set a thread to email me when a new posting has been made to that thread, or is that also on the "to do" list.

P.S. I do like the new look, and I quite understand that ironing out the bugs will take some time.

I believe the default state is to email you about replies to a thread that you've posted on, I know its been flooding my mail box so far this afternoon .

If you click the "Thread Tools" option, you'll have the ability to subscribe/unsubscribe to threads and in your UserCP, Click Edit Options, then scroll down till you see an area named "Default Notification" or worded similarly, there will be an option in there for "Immediate Email Notification", which if its not currently set, you can change.

Also, your email host might be eating the notifications as spam, so you may want to check your spam box to see if they're going there.

Gary - on any given topic you can click on the THREAD TOOLS dropdown at the top of the thread page and select SUBSCRIBE. You can then pick INSTANT, DAILY or WEEKLY notifications.

Gqary, Redneck - If you go to the USER CP section and then pick EDIT OPTIONS there is a section there Default Thread Subscription Mode. By default you will get an email notification for every topic you start or have posted in. You can turn that off by selecting Do Not Subscribe. Then you will only get notifications for threads you subscribe to.

Until the new chat rooms are set up, here is a temporary link to the old chat rooms.

Edited to remove link - new chat rooms are available.

The new chat rooms are open. See the Chat Room link on the upper navigation bar, between Quick Links and Log Out.

Hooray! I just went there and it seems to work for me! After 3 years I can finally participate here at home. The old software never worked for me (probably my satellite internet connection was not fast enough) and I was only able to use the chat rooms when camping somewhere with a fast internet connection. Good work, chaps!

Use the "Enter Chat" link. Once the chat window is open in the forum window, click on the "Undock/Float" icon on the bottom tool bar. This will open the chat window in a separat window and allow you to expand it to full screen.

This is GREAT chat software! KUDOS

I get "invalid user name or password" when trying to get in the chat rooms. Any ideas?

Something has just broken, as it did work.

I'll report it.

Same here - still gives me the "invalid user name/password right after the screen goes in to a "check HTTP" mode.

Looks like now I can't edit my signature and tried posting this a couple of times - still can't get in chat rooms. Invalid signature/password right after screen goes to checking "HTTP">
