In the time it took me to post the above question and report my own post I received six more notices. I had to send all of my RV to to spam to stop this

I'm sorry you had this happen - you should have gotten 1.
Did they all come to the same address?

I too have gotten the message about a separate Winnie forum. That's fine, however I don't have a Winnie and never had a Winnie, yet I'm being encouraged to join....why?

Also, the following quote was in my email, "To launch the community we moved roughly half of the content from iRV2 over to the new forum." What does that mean...half of iRV2 is now on the Winnie forum and I'll half to go there to read it??

I don't mind a single email about the new feature, but the promise of a series of emails over the next few weeks caused me to visit my preferences and disable ALL emails from the administrators. Pity, because I might miss something critically important.

The other problem for me is that the entire membership has been involuntarily signed up for another separate forum and there appears to be no sunset arrangement to remove that membership if it hasn't been responded to within a certain time. Do I have to formally acknowledge my membership of that forum just so I can resign from that forum?

The "entire membership" of iRV2 was not signed up. Only those who made posts in popular threads in the Winnebago Owners Forum here on iRV2 were.

It was complimentary so those who participated in Winnebago threads here wouldn't have to go through the entire registration process all over again. If you don't want your membership over there, please use the Contact Us on that forum's page to request your account be closed.

I don't & never have owned a Winnebago & I received the same email. However I have posted in the Winnebago Owners forum so that's why I rec'd the email.

Only half of the Winnebago Owners Forum posts were populated over to the WinnieOwners Forum, to give it a jump start. Trying to launch a new forum with no content would've meant the site could've taken a very, very long time to get off the ground, if at all. This is new territory for SK so we're trying to give it the best chance possible.

Seems likw a step backwards.
I think its a diservice but just my opinion. I haven't seen a good reason for doing this.

I used to own a Winnie and sometimes responded to posts if I had some kniwledge I thoughtight be helpful.
I doubt I would take the time / effort to go to another site to do that.
Seems like we lose the general discussion when brands are separated.
Is there something wrong with the various owner forum concept?
Will all popular owner forums be spun off?
Whos next Tiffin.... Newmar...????
