Why do we need "googleleads.g.doubleclick?

How do I get rid of the pages generated by googleleads, when I browse the forums?
I look at the back button list, arrow, and there is 3-4-5 pages from googleleads.g.doubleclick. something. Why?,,, and more imprtantly, how do I get rid of it, so when I click on the back button, it acctually does, go back to the page I was last looking at, and not the last googleleads page?
There has to be a simple fix for this. I'm getting very tired of clicking the back button 3-5 times every time I want to go back the the list of threads I was looking at. Kerry

Me too with Firefox and ABP. Just right clicked my back button and nothing but the last threads I visited.

Download and install Firefox for free then click on tools and add ons to get add block plus. You can easily move your favorites (bookmarks) from IE.

I'll be interested to know the answer, too. I don't have the problem either (running IE8 w/Win7) but I'll pass along your question to the techs that should know.

iRV2 is a free ad supported service like Google, Gmail, Yahoo Mail, facebook and millions of other websites on the internet. The Google ads are the advertising system used to pay for the service.

Google just announced some new ad tags today so we will test those out in hopes they will help resolve the back button issue. Hang tight as we do really want to get this worked out for everyone's sake.

Set up a HOSTS file.

You can Google that to see what it is. "host file"

You can also set up blocks in the IE Options. I'm not on Windows right now, nor IE, but I believe you go to tools, options, privacy, and set up blocks.

You can block by using "*.googleleads.g.doubleclick" without the quotes, also *.doubleclick, The * is the wild card and everthing ending in doubleclick should be blocked. Experiment - you will not hurt anything and you can always remove what you put in there.

Personally - Firefox with AdBlock

Heres another thing.. You can set your browser to 'Open links in New Tab' when you click the Middle Button on your mouse (wheel).. This is what I always do. When I'm done with the page, I simply close that Tab. Then my main page, in this case the 'New Posts' page, is always there. Its called 'Tabbed Browsing' and is a GREAT feature..

Or if i Firefox, download "Cool Previews." You don't even have to click on the link, just hover over the little blue book.
